On September 22nd, in the splendid setting of the Tenuta la Gigliola, in collaboration with the Mirabili Arte d’Abitare and the Artistic Foundry Il Cesello, the sculpture exhibition by Paolo Staccioli will open.

The exhibition path moves from the need for a well-established and appreciated tradition in the field of socio-cultural activities of the Tenuta la Gigliola, with the exhibition of the Master Paolo Staccioli it is our belief that visitors will grasp and appreciate with artistic sensitivity the richness of the place that of the contents of the particular artistic production of the Master, that despite the imposition for elegance and originality in the international artistic scene, is still an example of talent full of creative promises.

Born in Florence in 1943, Paolo Staccioli began his experience as an artist in the seventies, making his debut as a painter and soon making an appearance in the local area. At the beginning of the Nineties the need to experiment with new expressive languages pushed him to Faenza, in the workshop of a local ceramist, Umberto Santandrea, where he learned the techniques of this art. It is here that Staccioli realizes his first vases, first with the technique of glazed pottery, then experimenting with “reduction” cooking, which allows him to obtain extraordinary effects of iridescence and brightness.
Obtained absolute mastery of the trade, Staccioli sets up in his studio in Scandicci, near Florence, a laboratory where he continues independently and daily to measure himself with the use of fire and copper oxides, giving life to a myriad of vases that he covers with fantastic pictorial stories, fixed definitively by the enamelling with luster.

Among the most recent experiences are the participation in the exhibition Memorie dell’Antico in twentieth century art held in 2009 at the Museo degli Argenti in Palazzo Pitti in Florence and personal exhibitions in Washington at the Italian Embassy (April 2009), at Paris at the Selective Art Gallery (September 2009), in New York at the Spazio 522 and at the Kens’ Art Gallery in Florence (both in the spring of 2010). In September 2010 one of his personal was held in Pomarance, where a bronze warrior will soon be placed in front of the town hall.
2011 opened with two new exhibitions: Wandering in myth, at the Sala delle Colonne in the Municipality of Pontassieve (in January) and Paolo Staccioli. Artworks / Sculptures 1991-2011 at the Horne Museum in Florence (from March to May). Pietrasanta (August 2012) Bell tower and piazzetta del Duomo, bronze works and large corten.
